They are trying to get Charise down for the followup MRI. Some trafic managemwnt issues with transport, they have been trying to get this togather all day :p. Anyway I think it’s all just the normal hospital shuffle.
I hope to have contact and visting info tomorrow, as of right now she still can’t swallow to eat so she has to stay in the icu.
The nurses sem to be doing a bang up job. All and all so far this has been way better then our experence at Goodsam’.

we are over at ucsf this morning, charise is doing a lot better then last night. Still in ICU, and having some trouble talking and swallowing do to swelling. Dr. Parnasas was by but more less said the same stuff. What is left is to micro scopic to see or treat and will just have to be watched for a while. He didn’t feel there would be any issues and based on the operation and how Charise is doing now that she should make a full recovery.

Some how my server got set/reset GMT instead of PST and so all the times and dates where getting messed up on the time stamps. I thought u* blog for my phone was throwing a fit since it’s been a little iffy some times, but nope.
Of course here we see a great example of where something like blogbridge (my favorite) or RSS bandit is great, it doesn’t care what the webpage says. The RSS client going to go get and show you the direct data, for your on or offline viewing pleasure based on the xml article structure and what you have done on the client. Anyway sorry if I confused anyone, now back to your regularly scheduled updates…
Last one for tonight, I’m going to bed

Ok so we are back at my Moms house. for those who missed it (somehow my posts got out of order, not sure why). Charise is doing well. they managed to get 95% or so of the tumor. She will need some regular follow up MRI’s but it’s basically gone at this point. It is also benign, which is perhaps the best news (though a final say on that is pending, the Dr. seemed very comfortable with that prognosis. With a little luck I’ll have more news in the morning after meeting with the Dr. and getting a full explanation. Main issue now is pain management and staying on track. With a little luck she will be moved to recovery tomorrow and then be home in a few days.

I spoke to the Dr. The short version is that things couldn’ have gone better. It was exactly what they thought and benign.

They called Christas cel phone (not sure what’s up with that), anyway they are still in surgery and report that everything is going well. No projection on the end time yet on the message. I’m going to give them a call and see if I can get some particulars.

Actually I tend to think of it as bias neutral, no news is…. well no news, and that is exactly what I have as of 4pm.
The operation was original ranged from 6 to 12 hours, we are coming just inside the 6-7 hour mark depending on exactly when they started.
I’ll update as soon as I have something.
In the mean time I will put some pics up from Kaily playing at the exploratorium (which hasn’t changed much since I was a kid but is now 3x the cost
).

They doped Charise up and wheeled her off to the OR at 8:35am. Dr. Parasa came by and checked in, he mentioned the room was ready so there shoudn’t be a lot more hurry up and wait. Charise was allmost out cold within a minute or so of them putting the stuff in the IV.

we are here. It’s a little after 7am and we have had one dr consult and now the nurse is doing her thing. Anstishioligist will be by around 8am to start her IV.

When I’m bloging from my phone I don’t get a chance to see the comments as they come in. So I’m playing catch up, I’ll make sure charise see’s all the well wishes. I’ll post contact info when we have a real room and number. The first day or so she will be in the ICU and at least for a while after the surgery be incubated.
The lighting in UCSF, at least where we where tonight, was pretty awful giving everything a bit of a creepy green look at least on the old camera phone (it wasn’t all that bad in person, though a little grim).

We are deep inside ucsf. Endless hallways, no windows. Charise had some prep work for IV’s.
Oh they just came to get her to place her fiducially placed (the whatever head implants for the detailed MRI mapping)

Met with the knockout drug dr (actualy was an MD). Got the skinny on process. Check in is 6:30 am, I gather that being first is a good thing. It’s not harash Charise can eat up untill midnight, not that she has a huge apetite at this point.
Next we are off for the many hour stealth MRI.
